Private Chauffeur in Ireland for Visitors from the US

Travellers with luggage walking through a busy US airport terminal

Lir is a private chauffeur service based near Dublin Airport, and we look after visitors from the US from the moment they land to the moment they fly home. Whether you are here for meetings, a golf trip or a family holiday, one chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall, drives you in a luxury sedan or 7 seater MPV, and is a call or email away, 24 hours a day.

Landing at Dublin Airport after an overnight flight

Overnight flights from the US usually arrive early in the morning, and we plan for that. Send us your flight number when you book. Alan monitors flight times for every airport pickup, so if you land early or late your chauffeur already knows and is waiting in the arrivals hall when you walk through.

  • Meet and greet in the arrivals hall, at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2
  • Help with luggage from the terminal to the car
  • Your car waits in the VIP car park, a short walk from arrivals
  • WiFi and water on board, so you can message home or simply rest

Many visitors from the US go straight from Dublin Airport to Adare, Kerry, Galway or the Boyne Valley. We quote the whole journey in advance, with room for luggage and golf clubs. See our Dublin Airport transfers for more detail.

For US executives and travel managers

If you are in Ireland for meetings, a roadshow or a site visit, your chauffeur can stay with you for the whole day, waiting nearby between meetings so the car is ready when you are. We take bookings directly from executive assistants and travel managers in the US, confirm every detail by email, and provide receipts for expenses after each journey.

Lir was founded by Alan McLoughlin, who served with the Irish Defence Forces Military Police Corps before moving into close protection. He is a member of the International Association of Close Protection Professionals (IACPP), and Lir carries out discreet transport for embassies and government visits. For senior executives who need that level of care, see our close protection drivers or our executive chauffeur service.

For families, golfers and first time visitors

A private chauffeur lets you see Ireland without driving on the left, reading unfamiliar road signs or working out where to park. Our 7 seater MPVs suit families and small groups travelling with plenty of luggage or golf bags.

  • Newgrange and the Boyne Valley. An easy day from Dublin through some of Ireland’s oldest history. Alan named Lir after the Irish legend of the Children of Lir, and Irish history is a personal passion of his. Read our Newgrange day trip guide.
  • Golf with a Ryder Cup winner. Our golf package includes a round with Philip Walton, 1995 Ryder Cup winner. Availability is limited, so ask early. See golf trips in Ireland.
  • Private tours of Ireland. Day trips and multi day tours at your own pace. See private chauffeur tours.

Tour quotes cover your chauffeur and vehicle. Tickets and entry to the places you visit are not included.

Flying home: allow time for US Preclearance

Flights from Dublin to the US leave from Terminal 2, where you complete US immigration and customs before you board, so you land in the US as a domestic passenger. Dublin Airport says Terminal 2 can be busy from 05:00 to 12:00 and advises leaving plenty of time to check in, clear security and complete Preclearance. Tell us your flight time and we will plan your pickup to allow for it.

Booking from the US

We work 24/7, so a message sent at the end of your working day in the US is picked up overnight here. Email info@lirexecutivechauffeurservice.com or call +353 85 842 0199 with your dates, flight numbers, number of passengers and where you want to go, and we will reply with a fixed quote. We do not publish prices, because every trip is different.
